Areas of Expertise

Couples Therapy

Experience working with couples with affair recovery, neurodivergent dynamics, addiction and trauma, and challenges with sex and intimacy. I use the Gottman Method to provide tools for increasing romance and intimacy, shared meaning, and communication. We will map out the negative and positive interaction patterns to better understand when and why the "flavor of the week" arguments arise, allowing for a clear plan to increase the positives and disrupt the negatives. My hope for all couples is that they walk away from the experience feeling more seen, heard, and understood by each other.

Brainspotting

Developed by David Grand in 2003, brainspotting is considered a “brain-body based” relational therapy. It is designed to access the subcortical brain to bring our neurology back to a state of coherence. By allowing the nervous system to discharge stress that has been frozen neurologically we reset our brains ability to access the regulating processes of our central nervous system. I integrate Brainspotting with individual and couples treatment as therapeutically indicated.

Neurodivergence

Most of my experience prior to and during my Masters has been within the world of neurodivergence through in home intervention and school settings. I have pursued trainings around how to best support parents, kids, and couples with the nuances neurodivergence presents relationally. These trainings include Neurodevelopmentally Informed Parenting and  Association for Autism and Neurodivergence-Couples 101. I'm passionate about helping couples translate across the complexities of neurological differences to allow for a more authentic and satisfying relationship.

Individuals & Teens

As a person-centered and attachment therapist, my primary goal is to provide a safe space for you to come on your good and bad days. Therapy is like taking your car in for maintenance when an indicator light comes on. Sometimes it might be a quick and easy fix like adding gas or changing the oil and other times it might mean deconstructing or replacing gaskets and bolts that no longer serve a purpose. My hope is to provide a safe space for you to wrestle with the pain, trials, and transitions of life knowing that you just being you is worthy of acceptance and love.
